Pixel Viewer
A downloadable tool for Windows
Pixel Viewer is a simple tool to browse folders with lots of small images, like pixel art or icons, including subfolders.
I was inspired to write this program by downloading Microsoft's Visual Studio Image Library, which contains tens of thousands of icons, spread out over thousands of folders. Browsing this in Windows Explorer was such a pain that I decided to write this app!
To open a folder, use File, Open Folder from the top menu.
All subfolders are scanned and thumbnails appear of all the images that are found. You can stop scanning by pressing Escape. Click on a thumbnail to see a preview of it. Click a folder on the left to see only the thumbnails in that folder, click the "Clear" button below to go back to all folders.
In the Options panel, you can filter all images by text found in the name, you can set a different transparent color or set the minimum or maximum thumbnail size.
In the Scale panel, you can zoom in or out using Ctrl+MouseWheel.
Important: this app is meant for timy images like icons. Don't use it for folders with large images, like photos. Doing that can make it become slow and unresponsive!
This app was made with the Godot Engine and uses the excellent Godot Dockable Container, some code borrowed from Material Maker and themes from Pixelorama.
